At any large conference, one topic always comes up during informal coffee break discussions: speech intelligibility. A conference or lecture can only be effective if good speech intelligibility is achieved. This is, of course, largely the responsibility of the participants, who need to speak clearly and use their microphones properly. But a good sound system makes all the difference - which is why an increasing number of conference venues are investing in high-quality, permanently installed sound systems. A high-intelligibility ballroom is a good ballroom.
The Bedrock SM50 and SM90 can be used for quick and efficient evaluation measurements. The settings of a PA system, or even the occupancy of a room, may change the intelligibility. Quickly measure STIPA in a room and make adjustments to the room and PA system as needed.
